Spring came over-night! It seemed like the leaves popped out, the flowering trees bloomed and the grass turned green all at once. But of course this IS Michigan and we may get snow tonight when the temp is supposed to go down to 27 degrees!

They have been working on a new bridge across the Tittabawassee River in Sanford. It will straighten out Meridian Rd. and cut off about 4 miles of the winding part of the road. It looks like an expensive project--our tax dollars at work!

POLITICAL ANIMALS

McCain: Old Lion--he has had some mighty battles, has gained some experience, but is his snarl enough?

Obama: Young Leopard--quick and lithe, but do his paws still look too large for his body?

Clinton: Weasel--enough said.

He was kind enough to arrive during spring break--and he has continued to be a blessing to us all these years!

Cheryl's "trigger thumb" surgery was today. We got up at 5:00, arrived at the hospital at 6:10. Surgery began at 7:50, ended at 8:05 and we were home by 9:00. She is on an antibiotic and pain pills are available if needed (perhaps later tonight). Elevated hand and ice for a while to keep the swelling down, bandage replaced by a band aid on Friday, stitches out in two weeks. Thumb wrestling after that!
